Definition:
Network Marketing is a business modell combining direct sales and franchising. Usually an independent business owner (distributor) represent the parent company and are rewarded a commission relative to the volume of products sold by the Distributor as well as the leveraged sales efforts of his downline of independent distributors. This arrangement is similar to franchise arrangements where royalties are paid from sales and there is a yearly fee.
This business model has many names:
- network marketing
- referral marketing
- multi-level marketing
- affiliate marketing
- home-based business franchising
Negative comments usually come from people who have failed.
